Harold E. Penepacker, 87, formerly of Milroy, passed away, Saturday evening, July 27, 2019, at Valley View Haven, Belleville. Born March 20, 1932 in Spring Mills, he was a son of the late Francis F. and Elizabeth A. (Homan) Penepacker. His wife, Janet R. (Hettinger) Penepacker, preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1978. Surviving are: children, Lisa A. Watson and husband Steve of Reedsville, Amy L. Hoover and husband Larry L. of Reedsville, Clayton E. Penepacker and wife Sheila of Milroy; four grandchildren, Jason Hoover, Evan Watson, Ethan Watson, Amber Penepacker; and 2 great grandchildren, Grace and Lucas. He was preceded in death by siblings, Nellie Barger, Arlene Kline, Shirley Amspacker, and David B. Penepacker. He had worked as a truck driver for Kline Brothers Eggs and Hillendale Farms, and did painting, auto body and mechanical work. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Milroy C.M. & A. Church since 1979, and served as a Trustee and Usher for many years. He spent a lot of time on his porch during the summer, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to Hymn sings and washing and cleaning his vehicles.
There will be a viewing 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor John R. Hughes officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
