Joseph A. Yetter, Sr., 73, formerly of James Creek, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Apr. 3, 2019, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown. Born June 6, 1945 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Virginia L. (Berkheimer) Yetter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay (Benner) Yetter on Feb. 25, 1968. Surviving are: children, Joseph A. Yetter, Jr. and wife Joy of McClure, Todd R. Yetter and wife Mary of Newark, Del., John Everly and wife Krista of Lewistown, a sister, Fay McKnight and husband Hilton of Carlisle, and six grandchildren. Joe had worked and retired from Standard Steel, Burnham. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had been President of the United Steel Workers Union 2921 and a member and past president of the Mifflin-Juniata AFL-CIO Labor Council. He was a 1963 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, and he played trumpet in the Siglerville Band.
There will be a viewing 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 7, 2019, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville. Funeral services will be Monday 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor William Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
