Norman E. Freed, 88, of Reedsville, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 7, 2019, at home. Born Oct. 18, 1931 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John L. and Margaret (Specht) Freed.. His wife, Mabel (Moore) Freed, preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2018. Surviving are: children, Darla Dyer of Reedsville, Teresa Kohler and husband Harry of McVeytown, John A. Freed and fiance Lora Schimmelman of Frederica, DE.; siblings, Jean Artman, Jerry Freed and wife Ruth of Lewistown; grandchildren, Ray Dyer and wife Maureen, Aaron Kohler and girlfriend Janelle Pecht, Amy Kohler and fiance Aaron Miller, Alisha Freed and fiance Chris LaMana; great grandchildren, Lillian Dyer, Carli-Jo Kohler, Jordyn Kohler, Domynic LaMana, and Selena Dyer. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Melissa Freed, grandsons, Mark Dyer and Brandon Freed, siblings, Priscilla Miller and Edward L. Freed. He worked at Abbotts Dairy, retiring after 42 years of service. Before and after retirement he did yard work and odd jobs. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Norm was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church. He loved riding his Harley Davidson.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Pastor Jean Ward officiating. There will be a viewing one hour before the funeral, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
