Albert Walter Benn

  Albert Walter Benn, 86, of 16 Woodlawn Avenue, Milroy, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.  Born March 26, 1935 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Darlington M. and Elizabeth M. (Hostetler) Benn. On August 1, 1958, he married Darla R. (McKenery) Benn, she survives at their home.

  Also surviving are: his sons, David Paul Benn & wife Cheryl (Eddy) of Virginia Beach, VA; Darryl Alan Benn & wife Dessa (Kepner) of Milroy, PA; three grandchildren, Caleb N. Benn & wife Renee, Alison M. de la Peña & husband Jacob, and Dyson K. Treaster; his siblings, Darlington P. Benn & wife Cheryl of Mount Holly Springs, PA; David A. Benn & wife Jackie of Somerset, PA; and Roy C. Benn & wife Roberta of Belleville, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Fultz and a brother-in-law, David Fultz.

  Al was a 1953 graduate of Armagh-Brown High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1953-1956. He then attended and graduated from Nyack College in 1960. He was employed as a truck driver for Womeldorf Trucking; he worked at Standard Steel for 14 years, drove school bus for Fisher Brothers for many years, and owned and operated Quality Photos by Al for 30 years.  He was a member of Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and a former member of the Gideons. He enjoyed photography & doing wood working projects. He loved history and aviation and enjoyed going to air shows.

  His family will receive friends on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. also at the church with Pastors Neil Breneman and Doug Sabin officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milroy following the service.
