Barbara E. Lilley

Barbara E. Lilley, 91, of #3 Willow Lane, Yeagertown, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 8:30 p.m. at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

                She was born July 29, 1931 in Lewistown, a daughter of the late G. Fred and Pearl A. (Miller) Tate. On May 26, 1949, she married George W. Lilley. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2011.

                She is survived by: her children, Linda Jean Silks & husband William C. of Lewistown, Gale L. Brower of Lewistown, Kerry P. Lilley of Lewistown, eight grandchildren, Lucas R. Silks & wife Nicole, Ashlyn T. Silks, Julie Richard & husband Eric, Rebecca Brower, Denise Ryan & husband Reece, Lindsey Fortuna & husband Andrew, Amanda Lilley, Jacob Lilley, and Samantha Lilley; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

                Along with her parents and spouse, she was also preceded in death by a son, George W. Lilley, Jr., a grandson, William C. Silks, Jr., four brothers, George, Alvin, Norman & Leonard and three sisters, Mary Page, Jane Tate and Sharon McAteer.

                Barbara sold real estate for a number of years. She also worked at the girl’s detention home in Belleville, and in later years, she was employed at Lewistown Hospital. She was an active member of the Yeagertown United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, baking, cooking and collecting antiques.

                Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville. Burial will take place following the service at Mount Rock Cemetery in Lewistown. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
