Bertha Ann McCune, 82, of 3 Pear St., Apt. 3, Selinsgrove, PA, and formerly of Milroy, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Manor at Penn Village in Selinsgrove.
She was born April 2, 1941 in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, a daughter of the late Henry Levan and Sarah Elizabeth (Fitzsimmons) Bisel. On March 3, 1961, she married Charles McCune, he preceded her in death on November 30, 2007.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Manebal & husband Henry of Selinsgrove; Norma Jean Davis of Philadelphia; Pamela Joy Ludwig & husband Patrick of Sunbury; Charles Eugene McCune, Jr. of Middleburg; Esther Ruth Kerstetter of Middleburg; and Beverly Jo Lawson & companion Dennis Kuhns of Lewistown; seven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Mary & husband Richard, Henrietta, Shirley, and Gertrude & husband Carl.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Levan Bisel, Jr.
She was primarily a homemaker and a full-time Mother. She attended the Evangelical Methodist Church and God’s Missionary Church in Lewistown.
In her earlier years, Bertha enjoyed reading, cooking and baking. More recently, she enjoyed gardening, doing word search puzzles, and watching TV, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor Steven Aurand officiating. Burial will take place at Juniata Memorial Park in Lewistown following the service. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
