Charles Ray Hackenberg Obituary

Charles Ray Hackenberg, 86, of Duncansville, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2021 at his residence.  Ray was born Feb. 15, 1935 in DuBois, a son of the late Joseph L. and Beulah (Keim) Hackenberg.  His wife, Lucy J. (North) Hackenberg, whom he married Sept. 10, 1960, survives.  Also surviving are: children, Thomas R. Hackenberg and wife Christine of Richmond, Va., Jeffrey A. Hackenberg and wife Andrea Marie of Bellefonte, Debra J. Speece and husband Ryan of Altoona; a sister, Barbara Spatz of Reading; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren.  Ray was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Norman and Nona Gemi.

Ray was a graduate of Shamokin High School and also was a graduate of Susquehanna University.  Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran, and had worked as a pharmaceutical rep. for GlaxoSmithKline.  Ray was an avid Penn State football fan, but loved cheering on his family the most.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville, with Rev. Richard Bender officiating.
