Cloyd Bargo Obituary

Cloyd L. “Duke” Bargo, 91, of Honey Creek Rd., Reedsville, passed away at 10:22 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at his home.  

                He was born September 6, 1930 in Lewistown a son of the late Robert Bargo, Sr. and Evelyn (Buckley) Bargo. On April 7, 1955, he married Mary (Walters) Bargo; she preceded him in death on February 19, 2015.

                He is survived by: his sons, Mark Bargo & wife Sara of Reedsville; Bryne Bargo of Reedsville; and Joel “Poss” Bargo & wife Laurie of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Stephanie Flores, Rachel Gisewhite, Lindsey McClosky; Taylor Yoder, Nicholas Bargo, and Mitchell Bargo; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

                He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his siblings, Dot Shields, Jean Lennartz, Robert Bargo and Betts Glick.

                Duke was a 1947 graduate of Lewistown High School. He then served four years in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. Following his military service, he was employed at Standard Steel for 41 years as a machinist.

                He attended Milroy CMA Church, was a former member of the Miloy Lions Club, a member of the Blue Rock Sportsman’s Club, and had previously coached little league baseball in Reedsville for a number of years.

                His hobbies included: hunting and fishing with his sons, he especially enjoyed coon hunting, tending to his garden, going to the sale barn and attending auctions. He would often make trips to his camp in Potter County.

                His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Reedsville with Pastor John Hughes officiating. Burial will take place at Church Hill Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends from 10: 00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
