Fred J. Bodtorf, 85, of Reedsville, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 20, 2020, at his home. Born March 20, 1935 in Milroy, he was a son of the late Fred S. and Susan E. (Kerstetter) Bodtorf. His wife, Mary Alice (Fickes) Bodtorf, whom he married Dec. 23, 1954, survives.
Also surviving are: sons, Robert L. Bodtorf and wife Sharon of Newport, William K. Bodtorf and wife Diana of Reedsville, Christopher A. Bodtorf and wife Sheli of Lewistown; sisters, Sue Carol Decker of State College, Yvonne Mae Wilson of Lewistown; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son James S. Bodtorf, Sr. on Jan. 1, 2003.
Fred had been an acoustical engineer at Fisher Electronics, Milroy. He was a 1953 graduate of Armagh Brown High School, and a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at the Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, with Rev. Bill Howe and Rev. Carla Volland officiating. There will be a viewing 2 hours before the funeral service, at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
