Harriet E. 'Toot' (Wilson) Reed

  Harriet E. ‘Toot’ Wilson Reed, 99, of Tollgate Hill, Reedsville, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Sunday afternoon, Jan. 16, 2022 at her home.  Born Jan. 7, 1923 in Reedsville, she was the daughter of Charles Stewart and Clara Elizabeth (Groose) Wilson.  On Nov. 9, 1946 she married Samuel Harry Reed, of Milroy, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2017.  They were blessed to share 75 years of marriage.

  She is survived by: daughter, Darla M. Reed DiSalvo of Columbus, Oh.; grandchildren, Erin DiSalvo McGuire and husband Jeremy of Cumming, Ga., Jason David DiSalvo and wife Jennifer of Columbus, Oh.; great grandchildren, Ella McGuire and Jack McGuire of Cumming, GA., Ray DiSalvo and Liliana DiSalvo of Columbus, Oh.  She was preceded in death by siblings: Sara Jane Fultz, Henry Franklin Wilson, Charles S. Wilson, Jr., Paul Elsworth Wilson, Ethel Mae Shilling and Ross Eugene Wilson.

  She was a 1941 graduate of Reedsville High School and was the Class President.  She had worked at Rice Brothers Grocery, Pollock’s Supermarket and Rook’s Meat Market, Milroy.

  She was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 90 years.  She taught Sunday School, was on the counting team, was a greeter, Sunday School Treasurer, and helped with church bazaars.

  She was Treasurer of Eastern Star, and Ladies Aux., Reedsville Fire Co..  Harriet loved to go on Bus trips, make crafts for church bazaars, have yard sales, do word search and jigsaw puzzles, and work outside in her flower bed.  She was a devoted Christian and loved her family very much.  She left many memories behind. 

  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 at the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Carla Volland officiating.  Family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the church.  Masks are required.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
