James Edwards Obituary

James H. Edwards, 72, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

                He was born November 5, 1950 in Derry Township, Mifflin County, a son of the late George and Elizabeth (Thomas) Edwards. He was united in marriage to Debra (Yoder) Edwards, who preceded him in death in April 1998.

                He is survived by: his siblings, George F. Edwards of Mifflintown; Emma M. Stuck of Burnham; Anna Hosler & husband Dennis of Mifflintown; and Betty M. McNitt & husband James R. McNitt, Jr. of Reedsville. He was greatly loved by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His niece, Jean Moore, was his special caretaker for a number of years and he loved her very much.

          He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Himes and Julia M. Hockenberry. 

                James graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1969. He then faithfully served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he went to work at Krentzman & Son in Lewistown.

                He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, he found happiness in going for rides in the mountains. He took a ride almost daily. James loved his hound dogs and his cat, Maggie Mae.    

                Per his wishes, there will be no public services. A burial will take place at a later date in Birch Hill Cemetery, Lewistown, PA.
