James F. Farleman, 86, of 26 Locust St., Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born July 24, 1935 in Lewistown, as son of the late Charles W. and Bertha (Lockett) Farleman. On April 7, 1956, he married Shirley (Rheam) Farleman who passed away on April 28, 2012.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel L. Farleman of Lewistown, Tina M. Farleman of Lewistown, Janice E. Farleman of Lewistown and Brenda J. Sconyers & husband Eric of Lewistown, a granddaughter, who he adored, Heather Marie Sconyers of Lewistown, a brother, William Farleman, Sr. of Lewistown, and two sisters-in-law, Frances Rheam of Lewistown and Joanne Russell & husband William of Reedsville.
He was preceded in death by two sons, James Farleman and Ronald Farleman, and three sisters, Sara Goodwin, Patsy Hagemeyer, and Polly Rheam.
James attended Burnham-Derry School. He began his employment at Wolfgang Nursery, then he went to work for Phillip Wolf & Sons, and lastly, he was employed at Trinity Plastics until his retirement in 2000.
He was Christian by faith. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching Penn State football, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing the lottery, and watching and feeding the squirrels.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor John Walters officiating. Burial will take place at Church Hill Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
