James H. Kaufman, 81, of Milroy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 5, 2020, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born May 21, 1938 in Ferguson Valley, he was a son of the late William R. and Esther Grace (Yetter) Kaufman. His wife, Susan Anne (Frankhouser) Kaufman, whom he married April 24, 1969 in Winchester, Va., survives. Also surviving are: children, Michael Brett Kaufman of Milroy, Beth Ann Crosby of Wilton Manor, Fla., Timothy Scott Kaufman of Milroy, Patrick James Kaufman of Wilton Manor, Fla., Michelle Denise Kaufman of Burnham, Melanie Suzanne Perry & husband Ronald Lee, Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Elena Nannette Green & husband Wayne Brent of Edinburg, Va., stepchildren: Mark Andrew Keiser of Richfield, Jeffrey Lynn Keiser & wife Cathy of Milroy; a brother, Robert E. Kaufman of Milroy, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Wright Norman. He had worked 37 years as a machinist at Standard Steel, Burnham, and had previously worked at Bohn Furniture and the American Viscose. He was a 1956 graduate of Armagh Brown High School and had attended Penn State University. James was a member of the Barrville Mennonite Church, the Y.M.C.A., Lewistown Senior Center, the Short Drive Hunting Camp, and he served with the Mennonite Disaster Service.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at the Barrville Mennonite Church, with Pastor Carl Geissinger officiating. There will be a viewing one hour before the funeral service, at the church. Interment will be in Barrville Mennonite Cemetery.
