James Nelson Marker, Sr., 90, of McClure, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2020, at his home. Born Aug. 10, 1930 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James N. and Katherine (Myers) Marker. His wife, Alice M. (Drass) Marker, preceded him in death on July 17, 2014.
Also surviving are: children, James 'Sonny' Marker and wife Gail of Burnham, Cathy Frye and husband Gary of McClure, James N. Marker, Jr. and wife Sue, of Clearfield, John P. Marker, Sr. and wife Dixie of Hawstone, Mary E. King of Lewistown, Barry Lee Marker of McClure, ReEtta A. Marker of McClure; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
He had worked as a welder/carpenter in the construction industry. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Dormantown Lutheran Church.
A Celebration of life will be held 6:00 P.M., Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at the Dormantown Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bernard Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in the Dormantown Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to: UPMC Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, Pa. 16601.
