Jay E. Kline

Jay E. Kline, 76, of 164 King Street, Reedsville, passed away on July 24, 2023. 

He was born on January 18, 1947 in Lewistown to the late Roman and Mary (Trego) Kline.  On April 23, 1967 he married Nancy E. (Davis) Kline, who survives at home.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Don and Martha Davis, siblings Donald Kline, Fred Kline, Phyllis Shirk, Jack Kline, and a grandbaby, Tony Kline.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Danny E. Kline and wife Nicole of Lewistown and J. Eric Kline and wife Mary Ann of Yeagertown; grandchildren, Hunter, Tristen, Trinity, Tyler, Taylor, Taya, and Talia Kline; siblings Ruth Rown of Gettysburg and Clayton “Jake” Kline of Mifflinburg.

Jay graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1965, he then attended Penn State University and was enrolled in the Turf Grass program which he completed in 1967.  He became the golf course superintendent at Lewistown Country Club for forty years, retiring in 2012.  He was a founding member and Executive Director of the Keystone Association of Golf Course Superintendents.  He was a member of the Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church in Reedsville.  He loved the Lord and was very supportive of his church.  An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and spending time at camp with his family and friends. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
