Judy M. Carter, 81, of Naginey died peacefully Wednesday, July 5 at her home with her daughters by her side. She was born September 30, 1941, the daughter of the late Norman (Curtis) and Nina (Mowery) Stricker. Judy was preceded in death by her husband Daniel R. Carter in 2018. They were together 57 wonderful years.
She is survived by their two children, Robin J. Carter of Reedsville and Diane L. Peterson and husband, Barry, of Harrisburg.
Judy grew up in Yeagertown, a graduate of Chief Logan High School where she excelled in musical arts. She was an accomplished pianist, flutist, and vocalist. She traversed many trails along her father’s trapline. She loved playing the piano and singing and dancing with Danny. Judy enjoyed reading, gardening, feeding and watching her backyard birds, sewing & crafts, and going for walks with her many devoted canine companions over the years. She was a 20-year participant in the Adopt-a-Highway program and an avid Pirates fan.
Services will be private per Judy’s wishes. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
