Kenneth McKnight, Sr. Obituary

Kenneth L. McKnight, Sr, 82, of 1632 Honey Creek Road, Reedsville, passed away on January 23, 2024, at home.

He was born on May 7, 1941, in Lewistown to the late Hilton M. McKnight, Sr. and Mildred G. (Harbst) McKnight.  On February 13, 1962, he married Inez Louise (Treaster) McKnight, who survives at home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children:  Diane L. Damicantonio and husband Jeffrey of Naginey, Laura Ann Hannon and husband Reid of Lewistown, Kenneth L. McKnight, Jr. and wife Wendy of Shrader, Mark A. McKnight of Granville, Brian K. McKnight and wife Gina of McClure, Daniel W. McKnight and companion Sue LeFevre of Burnham, Robert E. McKnight and wife Kristie of Reedsville; 14 grandchildren, Michael Lucas, Anthony Damicantonio, Nathan Collins, Brittany Tate, Ashley Kosman, Danielle Gaisior, Mark McKnight, Jr., Angela Birch, Dani Moist, Cody McKnight, Lindsey Fortuna, Beth McKnight, Austin McKnight, Logan McKnight, and 21 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are siblings:  David J. McKnight and wife Dorothy, Gail A. Packard and husband Donald, Larry A. McKnight and wife Brenda, Keith R. McKnight and wife Helen, Steven A. McKnight and wife Cindy, Kathleen D. McKnight, Audrey E. Bowersox, Jeffrey L. McKnight, Karen S. Campbell and husband Jim, Daryl S. McKnight, and Phyllis B. Rose and husband Ric.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bryan T. McKnight, a granddaughter Meranda McKnight, a great-grandson Mason Lucas, a brother Hilton M. “Mick” McKnight, Jr., a brother-in-law, Marvin Bowersox, and sisters-in-law Donata and Belinda McKnight.

He worked as a painter at J-Wood in Milroy, Village Kitchens in Milroy, and lastly at KRT Cabinets until his retirement.

He was a member of the Blue Rock Sportsman Club, Milroy, and the Shrader United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1960, where he loved participating in track and field events while in school.  He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and also teaching his kids to hunt and fish.  He was a rescuer of wildlife and loved being in the outdoors and collecting old bottles. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m., with the Funeral service on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville, PA  17084.
