Leroy J. Goss, Sr.

  Leroy J. Goss, Sr., 76, of Milroy, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2020, at his home.  Born Oct. 6, 1943 in Milroy, he was a son of the late Beatrice G. (Yetter) Goss and Wilson A. Goss, Sr.  His lifelong companion of 40 years, Frances E. Riden, survives.

  Also surviving are: children, Leroy J. ‘Butch’ Goss, Jr. of Ivor, Va., Rick Lee Goss and wife Kandi of Milroy, Randy Lee Goss of Lewistown, Timothy James Goss and wife Jodi of Naginey, Tracey A. Rhoades and husband Jake of Milroy; step-children, Michael Duane Riden and wife Luann of Reedsville, Shelly O’Neil and husband Kevin of Reedsville; brothers, Robert L. Goss of McVeytown, John K. Goss, Sr. of Lewistown, Mark E. Goss of McVeytown; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson A. Goss, Jr., on Jan. 18, 2020.

  He had been an Armagh Township Supervisor and worked with the road crew, and was currently employed at Hartman Center, Milroy.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Siglerville, and a life member of the Milroy Fire Company and also served with the Milroy Fire Police.  He volunteered with the Milroy Ballfield.  He enjoyed trout fishing at Greenwood Furnace, boating, camping, hunting, and being outdoors.  He also enjoyed going to softball games and cutting wood with his son.  He was kind, caring, and always willing to step out and do for others. He enjoyed serving the people of Armagh Township.  He was such a good man.

  The public may pay their respects 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville (the family will not be present).  Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at Salem Cemetery, Siglerville, with Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating.
