Martha Wagner Obituary

  Martha N. (Parson) Wagner, 75, went home to be her heavenly Father on Jan. 4, 2021.  Born July 22, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Pauline (Long) Parson.  She is survived by: two sons, Richard L. Specht, Jr. and wife Patti of Yeagertown, Dennis L. Specht and wife Jenn of Lewistown; siblings, Paul Parson and wife LouAnn of St. Michaels, MD., Mary Wagner of Troxelville, Connie Wagner of Lewistown, Louie Parson and wife Helen of McClure, Barry Parson and companion Becky of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Heidi J. Specht and companion Donald E. Goss of Mifflintown, Matthew R. Specht and wife Katie of McClure, Jasmine Specht of Mifflinburg, Dustin Specht of Beebe, AR., Zoey Specht of Harrisburg; one great granddaughter, Hallie Jayde; five step-children and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by: her first husband Darius E. Brown, who was killed in Vietnam in 1966; two brothers, Harry Parson and William Parson; a sister Ida (Pat) Smith.

  Martha graduated from Lewistown High School in 1963.  She attended Nursing School in Harrisburg and joined the Women’s Army Corp during the Vietnam Era.  She owned and operated Wagner’s Store in Maitland, and was the manager of Snook’s Restaurant, McClure, Cargills Restaurant, Strodes Mills, Top of the Hill Diner, Elks Club on Market St., and worked as a nurse at Lewistown Hospital.  She was a member of the Lewistown Church of Christ, where she served in various capacities and loved every minute.  She volunteered at the Abuse Network for 10 years.

  She enjoyed crafting & selling at many craft shows.  She enjoyed cooking so others could enjoy her recipes.  Loved her family, and the time she spent with her sisters on vacations and shopping trips.  She spent a lot of time connecting with friends all over the United States, on the computer.  She loved life and was always concerned for others.  She loved her grandchildren and spent a lot of time with them as they were growing up.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her granddaughter Hallie Jayde for the last nine years.

  A celebration of Martha’s life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at the Lewistown Church of Christ, 315 S. Pine St., with Pastor Charles Brown.
