Mary Alice Bumgardner, 82, formerly of Reedsville, PA, passed away at 12:31 a.m. on Feb. 17, 2023 at Greenwood Village in Lewistown.
She was born June 8, 1940 in Reedsville, a daughter of the late Clyde Edgar & Edna M. (Gibboney) Woodward. On Jan. 28, 1967, she married George Bumgardner, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 21, 2010.
She is survived by: her sons, Stephen K. Dolin & wife Wanda of Reedsville; Michael S. Dolin & wife Jane of Whitehall, PA; Douglas A. Dolin & wife Lynne of Lewistown, PA; a step-son, Michael S. Bumgardner & wife Luann of Lewistown, PA; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Edwards, Tonya Wagner, Stephen Dolin & wife Angela, Jonathan Dolin & wife Abigail, Jacob Dolin, Brandon Dolin & wife Kaylee, Zachary Dolin, Justin Bumgardner, Ryan Bumgardner and Taray Carey & husband M. Alex Majkowski; eight great-grandchildren, Josh Edwards, Jared Edwards, Jessica Wagner, Jena Wagner, Logan Bumgardner, Noelle Dolin, Elliott Dolin, and River Dolin; and a brother, Robert Woodward of Milroy.
Mary was employed for 37 years for the Mifflin County School District in the cafeteria, where she served as the head cook at the time of her retirement.
She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church. In her youth, she enjoyed taking pictures, and more recently, she enjoyed being with her family, going camping, eating Hartley’s potato chips, her weekly shopping trips with her friend CeCe Wagner, having dinner at Pam Moyer Smyers’ house, and frequent visits from Robin Dolin & husband Daryl.
Her funeral will be held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Reedsville with Chaplain Tavis Stauffer officiating. Burial will be at Church Hill Cemetery following the service.
Her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
