Mary 'Liz' Elizabeth Peters

  Mary Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Peters, 90, of Reedsville, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, 2020 at her home.  Born Aug. 29, 1929 in Ferguson Valley, Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin R. and Mabel G. (Long) Orr.  Her husband, Marvin I. ‘Pete’ Peters, preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2002.

  Surviving are: daughters, Susan Peters Bricker of Reedsville, and Judi Peters Oleski and husband Darren of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren, Ryan Bricker, Mackenzie Melita and husband David, Tyler Oleski, Elliot Oleski, and a great granddaughter, Parker Melita and a great grandson, Nolan Melita.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Tressie Walters, and a brother, Thomas E. Orr of Lewistown.

  She had been an operator with Bell Telephone, Lewistown, for 14 years, and then worked as an operator at Lewistown Hospital for 22 years.  She was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Reedsville, the Lewistown Hospital Chorus, and the PEPPI exercise group.  She enjoyed flower arranging, Penn State football, and was an avid bowler.

  A private interment service will be held in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.  There will be a memorial service at a future date.
