Obituary

Mildred D. “Millie” Moyer, 73, of 1154 Lock Mills Road, Milroy, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

She was born Jan. 9, 1949, in Milroy, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Halbrick) Goss. In June 1981, she married James Moyer, who survives at their home.

She is also survived by three children, Dana Lukens of Lewistown; Billie Jo Ayres and husband Ryan of Boalsburg; and Jason Aitkins and wife Wendy of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Sean Ayres, Christopher Ayres, Larissa Lukens and Jason Aitkins, Jr.; as well as three great-grandchildren, Aiden Ayres, Kendall Ayres, and Jessa Aitkins.

She was the last of her immediate family and along with her parents, was preceded in death by a half-sister, Jean Bailor.

Millie graduated in 1967 from Kishacoquillas High School. She was employed at Empire Kosher until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed studying genealogy and visiting old cemeteries.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date, at which time the interment will take place at Salem Cemetery.
