Mona Headings Obituary

Mona L. (Baumgardner) Headings, 89, of Reedsville, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021 at 1:02 p.m., surrounded by her family.  Mona was born on July 23, 1931 in Naginey to the late Bonilee Margaret and John David Baumgardner.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth James Headings, sharing their life together for 70 years. She is also survived by: daughters, Linda J. Miller of Belleville and Lisa J. Woodring and Thomas R. of Mifflinburg; a brother Jack Baumgardner of Hanover, and a sister Greta Hassinger of Milroy.  She was blessed with: five grandchildren, Abby (Miller) Henry and husband Frederick Henry Jr. of Beaver Springs, Zachary Miller of Yeagertown, Brooke Miller of Lewistown, Carly (Woodring) Miller and husband Simon Miller of Mifflinburg, and Tessa (Woodring) Pick and husband Makenna Pick of State College; and nine great grandchildren who always put a smile on her face.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son Dr. Barry James Headings, and her brother Vaughn Baumgardner.

Mona’s family was her pride and joy.  She was their biggest supporter, cheerleader, and surrounded them with love every day of her life.

She was a member of the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church in Reedsville for many years.  She sang in the choir, was a trustee, and used her gardening skills to surround the church with beautiful flowers every spring.

She found peace and tranquility when she was surrounded by nature.  She loved being in her gardens, bird watching, taking mountain rides to see wildlife, and walks in the woods.

Mona retired from Mifflin County School District as a paraprofessional working with children with special needs.

She will be missed by so many.  Her memory will live in our hearts forever.

Family will receive friends from 1-2 pm, Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the East Kishacoquillas Prebyterian Church.  Funeral services will be 2:00pm., with Rev. Pat Roller officiating.  Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
