Peggy L Moore

Peggy L. Moore, 89, of 20 Green Lane, Belleville, died on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

She was born on December 5, 1934 in Burnham, a daughter of the late Lester Fern and Jennie Marie (Smith) Kline.  Her loving husband of 68 years, Pastor George C. Moore, whom she married on December 18, 1955, survives at home.

She was preceded in death by four brothers:  Donald H. Kline, Charles E. Kline, Kenneth R. Kline, Robert E. Kline and two sisters:  Phyllis M. Freed and B. Ann Henry; brother-in-law, William W. Moore and sister-in-law:  Mary E. Miller.  She was the last of her immediate family. 

Along with her husband, she is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law:  Paul M. Moore, Betty M. Kline, Robert E. Moore, James F. Moore, Ronald L. Moore and wife Svetlana and Florence Kline.

She attended the Reedsville High School, worked at Sankey’s Drug Store for a number of years.  Following that, worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s excavation and garage business for over 50 years.  She was primarily a homemaker.

She was a Children’s Sunday school teacher at the CMA in Reedsville and Centre Union Church, where her husband preached.  She and her husband attended Barrville Mennonite Church. 

She was a very loving and caring person.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, word search puzzles, she collected Longaberger baskets.  She was a born again Christian by faith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Barrville Mennonite Church, 48 Barrville Mountain Road, Reedsville, PA, with Pastor Carl Geissinger officiating.  Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the service.  Burial will be at the Church Hill Cemetery.
