S. Margaret Brubaker

S. Margaret Brubaker, 97, of Valley View Haven, and formerly of Reedsville, passed away at 10:33 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022 at the Haven.

She was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Belleville, a daughter of the late Paul L. and Minnie Mae (Warner) Civitts. On Oct. 24, 1948, she married Eugene M. Brubaker. He proceeded her in death.

She is survived by: her children, Jane Plourde and husband Donald of Palmyra; Paul E. Brubaker and wife Helen, of Belleville; Nancy B. Miller and husband Jack, of Lewistown; and Ann Shryock and husband Steve, of Mechanicsburg, as well as eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Glen Franklin Brubaker in 1950, two brothers, Warner Civitts and Paul Civitts, and three sisters, Camilla Civitts, Pauline Walker and Anna Mary Brasuell.

Margaret was a 1942 graduate of Belleville High School. She and her husband farmed for a number of years. She then worked part-time at the Birch Hill Supervisors Club for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belleville and attended the First United Methodist Church in Lewistown.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville following the service. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
