Samuel Bilger Obituary

Samuel W. Bilger, 59, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Milroy, PA.

                He was born on March 14, 1963 in Siglerville, PA, a son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Confer) and Earl F. Bilger and the late Glenn Harshbarger. His wife, Faith A. (Confer) Bilger, whom he married March 7, 1983 survives at home.

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Bilger and a nephew, Joey Woodring.

                Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons:  David L. Bilger & wife Katie of Milroy; Kevin J. Bilger and Daniel G. Bilger, both of Lewistown, granddaughters, Zoe & Marin Pearson of Milroy, a brother, Guy Bilger & wife Mary Kay of Lewistown, sisters, Bonnie Bilger of State College, Nancy Bigelow and husband Peanut of Reedsville, Kathy Ross & husband Don of Coburn, and Debbie Ghaner & husband Fred, as well as his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and his dogs, whom he adored, Bear & Rebel.

                Sam received his GED from State College Area High School. He worked at several businesses over the years including Lewistown Cabinet and ACPI. He also drove Amish and delivered newspapers.

                He was a member of the Lewistown HAM Radio Club (RACES) which is part of the office of public safety. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, playing the guitar, archery hunting, and using his CB radio with the handle of Cherry Picker.

                His services will be private and at the convenience of the family. His request was to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
