Steven D. Rook

Steven D. Rook, 63, of Reedsville, passed away at 6:15 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020, at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Steve was born on December 13, 1956, in Lewistown, the son of Don R. Rook and Shirley J. (Aumiller) Rook, of Reedsville.  On February 25, 1978, he married Tami L. (Usko) Rook, who resides at their home.

Steve is survived by a son Eric S. Rook and wife Katee A., granddaughter Kara N. and grandson Evan S., of Reedsville.  He is also survived by a daughter Heather R. Powell and granddaughter Jocelyn S.I., of Port Royal.  A brother Shane A. Rook of Milroy, a sister Sherry S. Riden and husband Doug of Reedsville, a niece Hillary D. Riden and fiancée Katie L. of Noblesville, IN and a nephew Brock J. Riden and wife Brittany D. and their daughter Isla G. of Fort Leavenworth, KS, all survive.

He was a 1974 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School.

He retired from Case New Holland, Belleville, on July 1, 2004 with 30 years of service.  After retirement he worked for Lewistown Cabinet Center as a cabinet installer.  Steve also worked for Larry R. Yohn Jr. Quality Home Improvements.

Steve enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, making projects for family and friends.  Many of his creations were one of a kind.  Steve was a master craftsman.

He enjoyed hunting at “The Farm”, fishing with his grandson and attending his granddaughter’s band concerts.  Steve was an avid Penn State football and wrestling fan.  He also enjoyed local high school wrestling and Babe Ruth baseball.

Steve was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Siglerville, the National Rifle Association, Trout Unlimited, and Blue Rock Sportsmans Club.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
