Vivian A. Hosterman, 95, formerly of Milroy, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Locust Grove Retirement Community, Mifflin. Born June 30, 1925 in Milroy, she was a daughter of the late Walter G. and Edna Mae (Pecht) Kauffman. Her husband, Harry Earl ‘Pacer’ Hosterman, preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1985. She is survived by a son, Bradley L. Hosterman of Florida and step-grandson, Mike Hill of Lewistown. She was preceded in death by twin daughters, and siblings, Helen Havice and Robert J. Kauffman. Vivian was “adopted” as Nanny by Merry Jo, Janelle, and Carolyn Sabin, and became Nanny also to nine great grandchildren. She was loved and will be greatly missed by them, as well as others in the community that her life touched. She knew Jesus, so those of us who knew and loved her hold the assurance she is with Him.
She was a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reedsville, where she was church secretary for many years. She worked in the cafeteria for Mifflin County School District.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reedsville, with Pastor Douglas Sabin officiating. Interment services were held 11:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy, with Pastor Douglas Sabin officiating.
